Found: Campy-ish compact crankset, 175mm, 10-11sp

Found a crankset to try out. Thanks.

I'm on the hunt for a compact crankset to match an early 2000's Record 10v group.

Best case would be a 10/11 speed compatible 50/34 Record/Chorus crankset, but I am open to other suggestions.
175mm greatly preferred, looking for lightly used (not NOS nor POS)

I've been trolling the auction site for about a month without success - big eyes, small wallet.

Let me know what ya got!

I'll see what's on the shelf when I get home from my ride.

Alloy or CF?

Thanks Grady.

I'm open to either - currently have alloy but the rear derailleur and Ergos are CF so I think either would be appropriate.

Rats!

All I have is an extra Centaur, but too short at 170.

Sorry, I thought I had an extra Chorus 10 speed/50-34. Can't seem to find it. Will keep looking.

I've found the compact Campy cranks a pain to source, and generally more expensive than the "standard".

Campagnolo Record 11 Speed Ultra Torque Carbon 50/34 175 mm Crankset, $220 + $15

Campagnolo Super Record Carbon Crankset 11 Speed 50/34 175mm Ultra Torque CULT, $265 + $15

I've wondered if more racers are using the standard cranks, and the casual riders are using the compact cranks, but not buying them new.

No worries. I do appreciate you checking.

Thanks for those links, but that’s above my budget.

This is my first foray into compact Campy (or modern Campy at all). I guess I’ve been spoiled being able to source 9-sp Shimano so cheaply, as you are correct about the sticker shock.

I'd probably look for around $150 for Chorus, and $200 for Record/Super Record.

You may find cranks without rings, but then you can spend a pretty penny on new rings.

But, you could have a long wait to find the perfect crankset.

Not sure if anything fits the bill.

Hey Neal,

Thanks, that seller reached out to me via Paceline. I may pursue one of them.

Unfortunately, doesn't look like I'll be in town there for quite a while.

Campagnolo equipment is reasonably priced if it doesn't say "Record" and you buy new equipment overseas.

Search for Centaur.

These will probably sell for a reasonable amount of money
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Campagnolo-...m/153873796099

At least one set of 175mm 50/34 silver Centaur cranks sold this month for $75

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...mplete=1&rt=nc

FSA carbon fiber cranks are also reasonably priced. The older carbon pro ISIS bottom bracket models have fairly svelte crank arms. Here's a 175mm 50/34 Carbon Pro Compact for under $72

I double-checked my stash and verified I have a 175 Chorus crankset in good shape with good rings. Guessing they come from 9spd era. 135 BCD so not compact either. Other than that, they’re perfect for you!

Willing to sell if you are interested. I may have the BB but not sure.

Same as these listed on velobase.

Umm, thanks but no thanks on these. Those appear to be 1st gen Chorus (8-sp), and, as you say, 135 bcd so not much interest here.

And I already own a set.

Thanks but no thanks on these too. Looking for 175mm and a bit higher group level, probably carbon and/or UltraTorque.

Nice price though.
