Cyclone 1st Gen derailleur set for parts or repair
EDIT: These derailleurs have both been upgraded to fully functional. I was clearing out a junk drawer and lucked upon an adjustment screw for the rear and a cable pitch bolt for the front. Note that the rear still has a non-original pinch bolt. These mechs are now good to go. Updated pics in reply below. And because unfortunately I can’t edit this listing’s title, nor can I delete the thread, I will retain my original low asking price rather than what I feel this pair of mechs are now worth.

Selling as a pair.
The rear derailleurmay function fine for your application as is, but note that the low adjust screw is slightly bent near the screw head and may need replacement to acces full range of adjustment. Also, please note that the cable pinch bolt has been replaced with a hex bolt. Has good spring tension, and pully guides. A bit of grime here and there, and surface blemishes indicating normal usage.
The front derailleuris missing it’s cable clamp bolt, so you will need to furnish a replacement or else a good substitution. The clamp tab is fortunately not missing, and is of course included. Spring tension is good. A little bit of grime, but otherwise shows minimal cosmetic wear from use.
$34 shipped SOLD

Updated pics showing that the rear low adjustment screw and the front cable pinch bolt have just been replaced with proper parts. These mechs are both now ready for a bike without any further ado. Same asking price as when they were initially listed as needing “parts or repair.”

I think I’d like to go ahead and take these. Pm on the way...
Edit: I reconsidered, don’t really have a need for these at the moment. Someone else grab them! I’ve bought from him before, great seller.

These are great derailleurs at a very fine price but they may not work with the freewheel if this is for your Mercier project. You likely have a 14-28 freewheel and the rear derailleur capacity tops out at 24.
The max cog size is 24: https://velobase.com/ViewComponent.as...d80dc&Enum=108

FluffyLaptop if you do have a 28 tooth large rear cog, then it’s true, the short cage Cyclone rear derailleur might not work for you. They are factory spec’d to handle a max cog of 24t. Some folks report that they’ve used it successfully with a 26t cog after some extra finicky adjustment. That’d be pushing the limit. But asking the derailleur to shift a 28t would likely be exceeding the limit, unless you have a very long derailleur hanger as noted in the below.
That said, there are plenty of good options out there for a derailleur with larger cog capacity, and we could certainly help point you to a few.
I’m happy to issue you a refund if you wish or need. Just let me know. I’ll hold off on shipping until I hear from you as to what you would like to do.
