Gitane TDF frame and fork
Gitane TDF frame and fork. Mechanic's special. About 23.5" seat tube, center to center. $30 plus shipping.
The good: It's a Gitane TDF. It has Campy rear dropouts.
The bad: Bought this as a complete bike and when I was taking it apart discovered the steering tube had a crack at the threads. Thought about fixing it, but changed my mind. Find a fork or get it fixed and you are good to go. The bike has a Velo Orange BB and BB threads may be damaged. This bike was owned by a forum member a while back (before the guy I bought it from) and he mentioned that in his post about it. I have not removed the BB, it spins fine. Seat binder bolt may be cross-threaded as it's very hard to turn. Will provide new bolt that looks like it will work.
Comes with everything shown, including top tube cable guides.

Too big for me but I have a Gitane with a vertical crack at the top of the steer tube where someone must have forced a 22.2 stem. Luckily it's at the top and interferes with nothing. I found the correct Pivo stem and positioned it properly (the bolt tightens below all threading).
It is a great riding bike.
I hope someone saves this bike.
