Modern tail lights on vintage bikes

Since Soma and Velo Orange both have something to offer I have installed them on three of my bikes - the V.O. reflector on the Fuji ( plus a Rawland ) and just recently mounted an Edison from Soma on the Raleigh. It uses two AAA batteries and the weight is reasonable. The single red led is sufficiently bright enough to be useful and supposedly will last 70 hours on steady, 280 on flash. Just thought I would mention them in case some of you were not aware and might be looking for something retro looking.

Bikes: A few too many

Hello,
If it keeps you safe why not and they don't look bad to me at all....batteries a plus, save your tires from generator rub.
Regrads, Ben

There are several very high output LED lights powered by Li ion batteries that are well made, nicely designed and light in weight - amazingly so, IMO. They come with excellent mounts that do not permanently modify the bicycle. They are not a fashionable as that tail light but they are not as heavy, either.

Ditto for head lights,... many bright enough even for night time navigation in total darkness.

Bikes: Are several.

Cool. I was unaware of these options. Definitely look the part.

Thanks for posting - I may have to pick one those Soma Edisons for when I get fenders installed on one of my current projects...

I do have some bright lights for night riding - Dinottes on the Fuji and Rawland for the rear along with some 900 -1000 lumen front lights so yes, there are some nice powerful and small led lights out there and I would not ride at night without them, even daytime is a good idea. I know some might want to put something on their vintage bike that at least looks somewhat period in appearance as I was. The V.O. reflector is quite nicely made and a reflector is a good addition to lights.
