Suntour Accushift things... Specifically XC Pro rear derailleurs and Command Shifters.

I see XC Pro and something in my head trips sideways... ka-doink.

Right now, I *think* I'm good for XC Pro cantilevers and Command Shifters. I just scored a Shimano 10 speed indexing disk for Accushift shifters. So I can use any Accushift 6-7-8 speed shifter and replace the disc and have it index with modern 10 speed Shimano stuff. That's going to be awe inspiring. I have a really pretty XC Comp RD on the side just in case I find a 7 speed FW or something.

But I still look at XC Pro and XC Comp rear derailleurs with lust. Hell, any of that stuff I think is cool, even if I've got spares... I still get twinges... It's a problem.

Out of need for the American-made riders that I've re-furbished and mildly hot-rodded, I grab every pair of 1/2"-threaded clipless pedals that I can find.

I've even been able to help two other serious riders with a pair of these over the last ten years, but these pedals are seriously hard to find.

I think they were all made by Wellgo, for just a couple of years, perhaps late 1990's?

Sold under several brands btw, which makes for some creative searches, so it's always a big surprise when the next pair shows up, usually for a reasonable $40 or so.

I also try to keep Super Champion Gentleman81 rims in stock for my wheelbuilding activities, and I never want to get caught short of 7-sp thumbshifters or Command shifters and Accu-7 freewheels.

I also keep a small horde of vintage tires around for that special build! I put a nice pair of Avocet 28's on this one, and for this build, my small horde of REG steel bottle cages and Serfas TEGU saddles again also came in handy!

I've been buying all local "market value or less" Italian Bianchis in celeste that I can get my hands on.

I do have a bag with a couple pairs of old Campag and sun tour Friction Bar end shifters , NR RD with SR Bolts a NOS Valentino and steel GS RD

And a couple 144 BCD cranks and 43~51t_ 3/32" chainrings .

im a handlebars and stems guy, cinelli pope, 3ttt moscow, the list goes on

worst thing is a lot of em dont even fit me well

oh and brake calipers, the prettier the better

That reminds me (how could I forget?), I have three sets of Suntour Symmetric shifters. Coupled with the v series rear and spirt front, they are unbeatable.

Oh, and I forgot about the numerous 'spare' SunTour 6-speed freewheels, both standard- and ultra-spaced 13-21, 13-24, 13-26, and 13-28.

I'm glad it's not just me. I have too many Suntour Vx rear mechs, Compe-V front mechs and Power Shifters.

Campagnolo MTB stuff. I'm weird that way.

Would you like to trade one of those Suntour dork disks for a Shimano dork disk?

I enjoy those dollars a lot more than most of the ones I spend, so I'm good with it. I have a bit of a pipe collection as well.

Biopace cranksets and chain rings-going from humble Exage 300 up to Dura-Ace 7400. 110BCD, 130 BCD, 74 BCD, whatever.
Light Action RDs. Just made a RD-L523 long cage with the cage from a RD-L541.
Ideale saddles.
I really can't say I started to collect any of these, but I've ended up with a stack of each. Except the chainrings- you've got to look for those now.

I've tried to take inventory, but it is a daunting and large task. I never get very far.

I have considered myself done with collecting and flipping, but yesterday I picked up a fully intact mtb with 18-speed Jamis. I started fixing it up today. Why am I doing this? It's an affliction.

You sound like my kind of guy, LA. I have a pipe collection too. Though I rarely smoke them anymore.
I still love a good Latakia-laced English blend from time to time, though.

I started to collect French bikes. But then I came to my senses and stopped before it got out of hand.

Not much for components but I have these FB hubs on a shelf in my office, except with a nicer box.

I have a pair of hubs that are marked Rochet that look exactly like yours. I was wondering who the manufacturer was, guessing that the Rochet mark was simply a private label.

Make that 3 for a pipe collection. Probably use them a couple of times a month. Other than that, records (not really a collection, just ones I like), growlers (inadvertent as I often forget to bring one), and SLR's and rangefinders as I like film photography.

Bike wise, I have a thing for French parts.

You wouldn't happen to be the one that bought the frameset off ebay a few weeks ago? It was yellow and blue with a cool chain guard and Rochet stamped hubs.

I seem to collect frames which appear (to me anyway) to be nice. Then I hang components on them so I can ride.

In the 70's, I resembled that.
Of course, it was much cheaper, and I was a younger bloke.

Yessir! Saw it, had to have it. I've purchased from this guy before, always a straight shooter. He even went out of his way to find correct parts for it and gave me a great "bundled" price. Doing research, we discovered it never had a front derailleur. Good thing, as the correct shifter would be a suicide style, reach down and grab the lever type. Those are rare, and the people that have them want more (a lot more) than the frame cost.

I'm causing some consternation here over my decision to repaint. I'll build it up first and ride it around before aI do anything. There may be a frame repair to do. When I do repaint, I'll have the local wet paint expert that does lots of restorations to do it right-even though that'll probably be half (or more) of the total cost of the bike. This old gal is in her 60's, and although she's a looker for her age, why not turn her back to the height of her beauty? I don't want to turn her into something she wasn't.

And that yellow and blue paint job, with pinstripes: as someone else pointed out, only the French can do that and still make it look right.
