Don't worry,........ the string lacing under leather saddle cutouts should ususally catch any low hanging organ parts and other related detritus if it falls through on a bad encounter with a pothole or bump on the road.....
But if you have saddle springs,.........sorry, you are on your own.....

amongst this crowd, the percentage of perverts and exhibitionists must be higher in that square kilometer than any other time of the year.

I would also believe the ratio of men to women must be ridiculously disproportionate.

Also i will state that from pictures of the event that i saw on bikeportland.org i will have to say that there are very few people that look good doing it. Majority of people look better in clothes they were invented for a reason.

The protest part and being "nude" doesn't seem to get the anti car / oil consumption point across to myself.

When i see events like this i think of:
1) Nudists that fight for their nudist rights
2) Streakers that run across tennis courts, race tracks, football fields etc. "that famous photo at Wimbledon"
3) Hippies

The ratio of men to women is about equal.

We're supposed to be talking about saddles, not emotional opinions about public nudity. By the way, by saying Portland "allows that there" makes it sound like we're in Denmark or somewhere. This is a once per year protest that some people feel strongly about. Yes, you can protest with clothes on. By the way, there's a lot of face print and body paint going on....seems mostly women.
@jyl - saw a photo from last year in the local online newspaper of a gentleman on a recumbent with a tidy towel draped neatly across.

Oh, by the way...all the Hippies are in Eugene! There's a joke about Hippies and Eugene - where I'm from). Also Berkenstocks & VW microvans.

On acid you probably considered going without a parachute too.

come on guys, let's focus on the question: the best C&V bike for riding while naked.
why are we so into the saddling part that much?

i'd vouch for a total chrome frame 'unpainted'?

I regularly participate in an underwear ride in Pittsburgh, PA. My Peugeot is a favorite for that ride since it has a rack to put my err "street clothes."

This year I have a cool Schwinn I found at the Ann Arbor show a few months back. I'll add as many lights as I can just for fun night rides. SO far I have gotten a lot of compliments on it. I'll post a pic later.

WNBR happens all around the world. If you are offended stay inside on June 13! I may participate in my home state, or I might not. We'll see.

Hey, its on 2 wheels! ENJOY IT!

I ride my Raleigh Sports with Brooks B72, or maybe it's a B66, with unpadded street shorts all the time. Completely comfortable. In fact my touring bike with B17 is also pretty fine without padding. Note that on any upright bike your gear would be rather more exposed; it's up to you to determine whether that's good or bad.

Some of the folks in this thread remind me how Americans have a prudish reputation to much of the rest of the world. I guess we were originally all the religious rejects weren't we?

I'm sure it would be weird , especially for the first time, being involved in a naked bike ride. But I also think its pretty weird and unhealthy how many people here automatically associate nudity and the human body with sex and disfunction. I guess the kids in parts of Africa and other parts of the world are all running around scared for having observed penises and vaginas, eh?

Anyway, I'd ride whatever bike you want, though perhaps a plastic bag over the saddle would be a good idea

Relax that grip on those pearls man, that string can only take so much pressure!

I'm sure parents who care this much will have lil Timmy and Sasha tucked in bed behind blackout curtains by 10.

I love Birks and have never been to Eugene.

On topic... I'd ride a cruiser. With a cloth covered saddle.

If it's likely to be a warm day I'd stay away from any saddle with exposed metal rivet heads

I'm surprised comments ended 10 days before the ride.

A LARGE thunderstorm threatened to derail the Columbus, OH event, but the rain went away before it was time to ride and cooled the temp enough where it was quite comfortable.

It was about 50/50 M/F in Ohio too. Great ride. Great route. Crowd enthusiasm was as high as the cyclists. They had a really good party after the ride too.

Yes, I did ride my bike with the banana seat.

SO what did the rest of you do?

So at this event, saying I was riding behind the most awesome De Rosa, could have two meanings?
