From: San Jose (Willow Glen) Ca
Bikes: Kirk Custom JK Special, 86 De Rosa Pro, '84 Team Miyata,(dura ace old school) 80?? SR Semi-Pro 600 Arabesque

Bought this off my local CL the other day. Got a super deal on it and I'm excited about turning it into a nice retro ride fit for Cino. The Campy 8 speed is going away in favor of a friction Suntour system.
Thought about 650b but the clearances in fork and chain stays are too tight to make that work well so I'll stay with 700c and look for some nice vintage clinchers.
No serial number... anyone have Bill's number or email at his new shop?

Some more pics while I'm stuck at work.
Frameset. Note the Mavic headset and mystery BB. Note that this is neither the post I'm using nor my saddle height, and the stem will change also.

Brake-bridge detail. Love this.

Mystery BB close up.

Mr. Davidson is a talented fellow. The lugs are the nicest most thought-out of any bike I've owned, by far -- the two head tube lugs meet and join behind the head tube (need to get a pic of this.) He also seems to have gone back to plug the vent holes on the frame.

That's already a pretty bike - can't wait to see the final version. Love the paint!
Interesting in that this frame uses the same bikini lugset on my late-70s/early-80s Davidson, and the brake bridge is identical to the one on my 02. You say no numbers?
Bill is still around, down around Fremont sharing building space and still doing frames.

Found a crack in the NDS Mavic crank arm
so the bike is at the C&V lbs getting the BB removed. I'll probably use the TA cyclotouriste cranks from my MTB on this, which will give me a very solid climbing range for Cino.

Whenever I see a red & yellow bike, I am reminded of my first "adult" bike, which I got when I was maybe 12. It was an early box store mountain bike, it weighed a ton, and it was way too big for me. I always called it "Ketchup & Mustard". I think I only had it a summer before I got hit by a car and it was wrecked--thankfully I was ok. Somehow I think your bike might be a little nicer...

I don't know why (I'm normally all about matching the details), but that housing really rubs me the right way. I wonder which of my bikes might benefit from a little color?
Glad the BB came out okay - and I wish I had some brakes for you. Alas...
I hope you get to finish this beauty up soon
