Help with rims please
Hey,
i bought a beautiful Campagnolo NuovoRecord Hubs (36h, low flange) and now need to decide on tubular rims (my weight: 60kg) and my budget ~100 Euro.
My options are:
- vintage Mavic Speciale Sport (NOS), ~380g each
- vintage Campagnolo Lambda Strada (NOS), ~440g each
- new Mavic Open Pro, ~435g each
Which one would you recommend?

Bikes: Cheltenham-Pedersen racer, Boulder F/S Paris-Roubaix, Varsity racer, '52 Christophe, '62 Continental, '92 Merckx, '75 Limongi, '76 Presto, '72 Gitane SC, '71 Schwinn SS, etc.
Depends on the bike I would think. Are aesthetics and originality of any concern? Are the Mavic Sport rims eyeleted(?), if not they will tend to crack at the holes if big mileage were to accrue.
On the other hand, those Sport rims are more or less made for you, the lightweight rider who should get far more km out of them than most!
Open Pro is a very good clincher, I have these on Nuovo small-flange hubs, but am a bit loathe to put them on any particular vintage bike because of the conflicting eras of the rims and hubs.

Are you locked into those options? If I were doing tubulars on a vintage build I would also consider era-correct rims from Ambrosio, NISI, Fiamme and FIR. The Fiamme Red Label is very highly regarded.
I would prioritize era, color and rim style and then go on the hunt from there. Have fun!

Bikes: Too many to list here check my signature.
I would recommend any decent quality silver box section eyeleted rim. Unless your planning to race or are already 2% body fat I don't think weight is a big issue.

Wow, thanks guys! Mavic Sport are SINGLE EYELET. My bike is Rosselli (80s i think). I'd prefer to have era-correct rims but want them i NOS condition and probably my budget (~100E) will be quite limiting. My only requirement is (apart from the perfect condition): silver/chrome finish. It would be awesome if weight < 400g (i assume there's a noticable difference between 380g and 450g?)
