Paint matching
Probably been asked before, but where do most of you restorers find paint to touch up a frame? I'm in need of touching up a few nicks on a metallic paint job from long ago, specifically the metallic gray on a Trek 560 EX from '87.

There's a paint database thread here:

I had heard a lot of paint shops will be able to match colors by scanning. That is true, however, when I took a frame into one of the larger automotive paint suppliers in my area, they told me the tubing did not present a large enough area to get an accurate scan.
There may be other places out there that have different equipment that can scan a frame tube and get a match. I haven't looked around so I don't know.
