IMHO...

Vintage could be defined by time, classic cannot...and they are not synonyms...

I think several people here have vintage in the right time frame...call it 25 years +/- 2 years. And...all bikes, to me, that are in that age range, or beyond, are vintage (even the Wally world POC's)...

Classic, to me, will always be in the "eye of the beholder" to a large extent, just like beauty is. There may be some bikes that EVERYONE believes are classic, while other bikes are a bit more specific. Personally, most Treks never fall into the Classic realm for me...but...again "eye of the beholder." Also, I have found this group to be fairly tolerant over what is called C&V as a whole...if the bike looks good, we like looking at it and commenting on it.

Just my $.02

I see that folk on here use the terms equally without defining them, then they are being treated as such. Clearly we English are more specific with regard to our terms, we would not on the whole subscribe to the,"if it looks good"categorisation.

For example Peter Underwood's well known website is clear about what is classic both in terms of type and period.
