I don't know about snobbery- but I got some of the bulk Jagwire brake housing off the ebay- either it's counterfeit or Jagwire has a line of stuff that's quality is much below the other stuff that I was familiar with. I did not like it and gifted it to someone.

I was looking for some red quality shift housing over the winter and checked eBay. The jagwire on there was listed with a disclaimer that it didn't have the plastic sheath inside the housing and that it wasn't the same as finished jagwire housing you can buy at the store.

Pretty sketch to sell it at all and I'm sure many sellers don't mention it isn't the same.

Probably the same stuff I had.

I generally like the Jagwire stuff I've had- there was this housing, and then I had a problem with a "Road Pro" cable kit not having enough housing to do an old bike.

I'll have to do a better job at looking around for the good stuff before I go on a buying spree again.

I got a box of BBB housing at a swapmeet, and im really quite impressed with it considering it was 15 dollars.

I'm total tacky. Both sides of the chainstays on my RRB have color matched to frame duct tape. Stigma- do I really care what others think?!

If both sides have it, then I believe the correct term is "stigmata".

Me... and...

My total lack of any bar tape. I can't find the right colors. Almost all bikes without bar tape look cheap.(with a very few exceptions).

I'm trying to find a light yellow cloth tape. So far, no luck. regular velox or tressostar are too dark .

The Kalloy had obviously superior forging (Ritchey had visible pores) and the machined areas and cleaned up edges were vastly superior in craftsmanship. (Robots?) The Kalloy held the bars better, with less torque, and fit the steerer more precisely as well. Excellent stainless hardware, properly greased in the package. Very light and stiff.

So the $100.00 one is better because????...........

Campagnolo Super Record seat post on a bike that is otherwise all C-Record. In my defense, I have the original and mint C-Record post in safe keeping, but not using it because the post's aero section goes into the seat lug clamp a little bit when set at the correct seat height.

Bar tape from Performance - why pay more?

These retail for $8.99 but I get them with the frequent 20% off coupons. The are good 'be seen' lights and have a better mounting bracket than many other more expensive lights. I put them on all of my bikes.
I rode to my local Harbor Freight and bought one of these lights yesterday. I'd have bought 2 but there was only one in stock. Nice light (flash mode, anyway) with a good mount. I'll probably go back in a couple weeks and try to get a couple more.

I posted this in a FB group and everyone jumped on me for mentioning Wally World, but this is perfectly good bar tape. Same as 90% of what's out there as far as I'm concerned.

Good luck finding it in the bike section though; it's usually a disaster area.

I saw some cushion tape at WalMart , in the garden section, that looked exactly like bar tape. $3 a roll, packaged for wrapping shovels, rakes, etc.
