What's disappeared in YOUR shop?

Early this summer I finished a complete rebuilt, repaint, and re-decaling of a 1981 Miyata 1000. All original parts except for the derailleurs. It looks great.

Actually, it's not quite finished. I hadn't gotten around to reinstalling the chunky stick-on plastic headbadge, was traveling for a good bit of the summer, and now I can't find the accursed thing. I know it's in my work space somewhere. The place is actually fairly well organized, so I'm trying not to get bent out of shape and assume that if I don't panic it will surface eventually. The bike rides surprisingly well without it.

What similar situations are others trying to be patient about?

15mm combo wrenches. I know where two of them are, but there are 3 or 4 more that are eluding me.

Two Schwinn 5/8" saddle clamps, from when I moved. And this year, a bag of about 20 Ergo G springs.

My 2, 3 and 4-pound hammers always seem to be nowhere at hand.

Oh, and I recently FOUND a box full of 1" Pasela tires that I had apparently camouflaged a bit too well, again during that awful move from my apartment, which I had to do with a broken wrist.

I had a zip-lock bag full of Avocet computers, one more item still missing from that move.

One of those rear-wheel holding stands that I often used as a repair stand, as it allowed me to turn the cranks and adjust the RD/FD. I think someone appropriated it, but you never know, it could be in my personal madhouse.

Time, money, sleep. On a good day the shop also helps disappear a bit of stress.

My favorite crank puller, a yellow handled Pedro.

Also space! Both the garage and basement remain full. I envision buying and furnishing another rental property soon. Picked up a curbside Duncan Phyfe pedestal mahoghany table and 3 chairs, along with 4 MCM bent plywood chairs. Oy!
These problems are caused in part by owning a large SUV.

2 months ago I had 6 project bikes just sitting doing nothing. Gave 3 away shined the chrome on the BMX for my grandson to enjoy and sold the stingray. My shop is blissfully empty and ready for the offseason.

+1 On space. I am filling up space at the same pace or even faster than I add it. In the last year, I added a two car garage and a two car carport. They are full.

The only good news is I am making headway on unpacking stuff from our move last May.

me too i run out of space. . What stand do you use when you work on your bikes. i use one old trainer hold the bike. That allowed me do the brakes gears is works okay but is too low on the floor works on bikes that way is not comfortable. What work bike stand is the best. I have seen the park tool but is cost much.

Whatever I need most at any particular time seems to be what is missing/hidden in my shop. Usually a tool, buty sometimes a component too. When my mechanical karma is especially bad, I can't find the tool or the component.

Now that you mention it, it's possible that Judge Crater made off with my headbadge.

There was a comedian that said when you die and go to heaven, all the stuff you lost since you were a kid is there waiting for you. What a pleasant thought although I like the idea of having 72 virgins there instead

A bridge wire for a MAFAC Competition. I was sure that it would turn up, but it's been a couple of years.

One of the "hen's teeth" Avocet stand-offs for mounting a third chainring on the crank:

I was lucky, though, as it turned up in the bottom of a parts box several years later.
