Current number

What's the current count at your house?

I did a count last night and I'm at 27 bikes  WTF? Not all are mine, 13 or so are waiting to be built or picked up or are in for tune ups, 3 are my wifes but still, that's a lot of bikes. Most are ready to ride or need minor tweaking to ride.

OldsCOOL 10-08-15 10:14 AM

That's a lot of tires.

Mine 14 (1 wall hanger) , project 1, daughter's 4, son 1 - total 20

jpaschall 10-08-15 10:30 AM

6 in the house currently. Bidding on another as we speak. Going to have to unload one soon.

lasauge 10-08-15 10:40 AM

13: 5 road bikes, 1 cx bike, 3 utility bikes, 2 that belong to family members, and 2 kids bikes that I will give away as soon as I can find good homes for them.

due ruote 10-08-15 10:42 AM

10 total, including a tandem and one that could more or less be put out for trash day. 4 personal "serious" riders; enough to have choices but without overwhelming parts/consumable needs and maintenance schedules. Ymmv.

SJX426 10-08-15 10:44 AM

13.5
9.5 can be ridden today.
the rest are projects

Too many...or too few...depending on point of view...

arex 10-08-15 10:51 AM

Six, only two rolling at the moment.

Darth Lefty 10-08-15 10:54 AM

I sold my Super Sport to a friend and got rid of some co-op stuff so we are down to only rideable bikes right now. There are 5 of them (Schwinn Paramount, Specialized Hardrock, Cannondale XR800, Burley Samba, Raleigh Route).

May have a 6th by the time Sunday is over... if so, I'll post.

Sir_Name 10-08-15 10:56 AM

Eight are ready to ride, two of which are the GF's. I have two projects as well (one long term). That makes ten. More than I thought...

Oh yeah, one to give a once over and donate. Eleven. This 'collection' goes to eleven.

oddjob2 10-08-15 11:05 AM

More than the aggregate of the first 11 guys above.

Kobe 10-08-15 11:07 AM

10. 5 are mine, 1 each for my wife and 3 kids and 1 waiting to be sold. I keep thinking 3 would be the perfect number of bikes for myself but can never stay at that number for very long.

seedsbelize 10-08-15 11:20 AM

I'm sitting at 5--4 road bikes and a mountain bike. My wife has a mountain bike too, and there is a mtn bike in pieces, waiting to be converted to drop bars. That project remains months away.

Lascauxcaveman 10-08-15 11:24 AM

19 rideable ones right now; half dozen partly dissambleds. Two or three I fully intend to sell. Some of mine are smaller bikes I keep on hand in case a friend or relative wants to go for a ride. So they're not really "mine."

fender1 10-08-15 11:36 AM

(Me) 3 road, 1 mountain. Wife, 1 road. Son, 1 Mountain. Daughter, 1 kids bike. 5 frames soon to be for sale and loads of parts, soon to be for sale.

Me- 1 show bike-1975 Olmo Competitione Titanio (ridden maybe 100 miles since built)
5 ridable
3 paint and decals done...
3 others ready to build
6 at some stage of pre-painting

(I don't have complete groups for them all, although I probably have wheels.)

Cheers, Eric

How many is that? I've still got two frames left, too, but they're both going away sometime in the near future - and, of course, one of the above rides is currently for sale.

It's bad...I'll leave it at that. What's worse is I really only ride 5 regularly.

RobE30 10-08-15 12:14 PM

Interested to see what you're purging

5 road, 1 touring, 1 s/s, 1 modern mtb, 2 vintage, 1 cx bike. My wife has 1 mtb, 2 road. I really need to do some purging

The mtbs get regular ride time but my main riders are my cx bike (Gunnar Crosshair) and my Trek 710

Wildwood 10-08-15 02:42 PM

5 roadies
1 rigid mtn bike conversion for gravel
1 mtn bike
1 tandem
4 assorted (utility/beach) for other family members who don't ride anymore

12 total
edit: All ready to ride.

ThermionicScott 10-08-15 02:49 PM

I counted it up the other day and got 6 rideable bikes between the fiancee and myself, and about 4 frames/incomplete bikes besides that. Only three of the above get ridden with any regularity, though, so I could stand to weed out some of it.
