Picked up mish-mash of headset parts. Basically a complete Stronglight P3 minus the fork crown race, plus these two extra bits.

Curious, can anyone ID the top race and fork crown race? Top race is reminiscent of a Shimano 600 but isn't alloy. Figure the split in the alloy crown race is a dead giveaway to someone.

Maybe it speaks to my lack of variety for what I work on, I haven't seen either. The adjustable race also looks like a Tange, but I've never encountered one with the teeth inside the top like this. I've seen split crown races also, but nothing this tall in alloy. Oddballs.

yes, the teeth are unique in my experience. if it were not for them one would expect hs to be one of the many copies of campag sport/zeus gran sport.

My guess the teeth are designed to go with a center pull brake cable stop (which is missing from your photos).

It helps keep the cable stop straight ahead. I haven't disassembled yet so I don't know if the cable stop & fork are keyed or not.

Ok.. so this is not the cleanest looking headset in the world. The bike still needs a good cleaning.

As far as the split crown race, that just looks odd. Usually the crown race seat is raised slightly. It would be a pain to install the crown race if the steer tube was straight to the bottom. But, the crown race takes a lot of impact from riding. The bike is reasonably ridable without a perfectly smooth crown race, but I'd think an unnecessary split would be a major wear spot.
