Well ya got me started so I had to know Stepped out earlier but did a little more looking and this looks a lot like this 82' that is a documented year. It did not sell, probably due to a dent, but fork matches on this one. (scroll down and hover)

Unfortunately, the fork crown and ends are fairly common, so they aren't really distinguishing. In addition, the shorelines on the rear dropouts are different, and the scalloped seat cluster in the original post are unusual and not the same as the ones on this bike. Of course, the serial probably precludes the original post from being a Bob Jackson.

Also, the original frame has a dent on the top tube.

That was not a... this is a guaranteed Bob bike, if I were purchasing I would contact as mentioned in my post. I forget we are on the web and just quick posted. I don't think differences necesarrily eliminates this bike but maybe someone here does know. I would put hours into researching if I were buying. With a low serial this is something I would prefer to own if it were near me as it could be a rare older or special version.

The dent thing must have also come across wrong. I mentioned the dent as the reason it did not sell, not stating these are one in the same.

I don't think the seller is trying to mislead, but I have to wonder if the bike has been crashed, the fork replaced, and the bike repainted. I say this because it seems little, if any attempt to thin the fork lugs, whereas there are signs of it on other parts of the bike. I doubt the guess that it is a Bob Jackson, but agree it could be a rather nice bike.

Oh, no. I just saw that the CL posting has a dent. It's on the top tube between the first and second cable guide, but closer to the second cable guide. It shows up in both photos 2 and 11 in the same spot, so it's not just an aberration in the lens or photo.
