For Cdn it's close enough to double - be $200 Cdn by the time you get it here and depending on what it's declared as, clothing has 18% duty and likely 13% tax. Most of my bikes didn't cost much more than that.

Not too bad a price though, the PlanetX Holdsworth one is 83.3 L.

Yes. I checked: most seem to end up in Narnia: where socks end up

Those Carlton replica jerseys are the late 70's style. I've never seen one like that but here's a picture from the 1978 Carlton catalog:

I like the old late 60's early 70's Carlton jerseys much better. From the 1969-1970 Carlton catalog

Raleigh jerseys from that era where about the same design except for the colors and brand name.

That is a modern interpretation of the original Jersey. Many Designs were put forth for voting on the Facebook Carlton Page. That jersey design was the one most of the members wanted. I for one am Glad someone is giving it a go. Finding an Original Jersey is close to impossible, the last one that went for sale on Ebay went for over $250. I have ordered a Shirt and a Cap.

Bikes: LESS than I did a year ago!

These are extremely cool looking...wish someone would do the same for a retro Raleigh jersey like this as well...and maybe the Schwinn "Wheaties" one? If anyone know of those, let me know...

I haven't seen a knit/wool Raleigh retro jersey, but there have been ones made of less sheep-ish materials. Prendas appears to have one for sale ....
TI Raleigh Retro Jersey - Short Sleeve | Prendas Ciclismo

back when ebay was a new thing, I was fortunate enough to find a few old wool Raleigh jerseys, and at good prices.
A quick photo of one draped over my Raleigh Team...

I was also fortunate to be able to get an early 70's Raleigh jersey (with front pockets) from a friend. It's similar to what Chas has provided an image of. Very neat, but a very heavy wool. The Raleigh logo is embroidered instead of using the flocking on the later jerseys.

I have a number of retro jerseys that I bought from Prendas (Gitane, Peugeot, etc.). They're really well made and comfortable. Prendas is a class act too, easy to buy from with fast delivery.

I don't remember if I've ever seen one of the white with red and black trim Raleigh jerseys in wool. The ones that I remember were light weight and made of a synthetic material. Also, one guy I knew had a silk track jersey.

it looks a lot like the jersey worn by a fellow in a small photo on the International page of the 1976 (I think) Raleigh catalog...

I think I gave the whole story on my International in a separate thread, but the short story is that I bought it NIB around the year 2000. It was much too nice to make any changes.... except for throwing on some MA-2 clincher rims. The original rims, spokes and tires are stashed away, "just in case". The original tubulars were in very good condition. Apparently bike shop basements are well suited for archival storage.

In the mid '70s, I used to race for TI Raleigh - through a club called JCRC.

We only wore the white jerseys, and they did not have the pockets on the front.

Some of the pictures of the white Raleigh jerseys in this thread only advertise "Raleigh". Ours specifically said "TI Raleigh" - like this one:

I had several road jerseys which were structurally similar to what we wear today - i.e. 3 pockets at the back, none at the front, but a zipper that only went down about 6 inches. They weren't made of wool - I guess they were some sort of nylon.

I also had track jerseys, which were lighter, tighter, no pockets, and as my fading memory serves, they had no zipper.

I also had woolen sweats ("track suits") that were almost the same as the red one in the picture above. They had the TI Raleigh text in the same place, but the stripes on the collar, cuffs and at the ankles were just white.

On the road I raced a Holdsworth which I totalled, and replaced with a Carlton Professional. It had all Campagnolo Record fittings except for the cranks, which were TA.

My track bike was a store-built thing called a "DHC", and had Campagnolo from end to end. ("Drop-outs" were called "ends" in those days).

My $64,000 question:

Is there any way that I can get one of those jerseys today? Even a good replica would be cool...

.
