EDIT... You know, I've lived up here my entire life- you'd figure I'd get over that whining about how cold it gets... We've been totally spoiled this winter, I got a new jacket, and it's the first day I'm acctually testing out how warm it'll keep me... it's the middle of January and it hasn't quite hit below zero yet. But no, I have to complain about it...

yumm! shiny and pretty (and good light).

I don't have any experience with steel cottered cranks, beyond my first ten speed (a lugged Montgomery Wards bike). This FB crankset is much more slender and sleek.
The chainring is quite slender too... how close was the weight to an alloy crankset of that era? Imagine a lightweight crankset where the chainring wore like steel! (because it *was* steel)

Thanks for sharing!

Best known for their hubs. Made most of them in Italy up until about 1960. Made all of Campagnolo's hubs prior to 1958.

It wasn't good but caused no harm. AFAIK it was not caused by Simple Green, though one never knows what a PO did. It was on an abused bike but not from CL. The bike came from a BF member who had picked it up cheaply, given up on riding drop bars because of arm issues, offered it to me cheaply, then AFAIK disappeared. It came with all original components and even the shop invoice. The frame had been repainted badly and some of the components had been abused. This is the original Sedis chain, I believe. After I assembled the bike I rode it around the block and the chain broke before I got back home. Inspection showed cracks like those in maybe a quarter of the link side plates. R.I.P Sedis, your life is over. Given the abuse I found on other components I'm not surprised.

The bike is now rideable but I'm not sure what to do with it.

Purchased around 1970. Been carrying it around since and haven't cut any off yet!
