A question about Dynohubs

Does anyone know the size and or thread pitch for the two brass poles on a Dynohub where one hooks up the wires leading to the lights? Mine doesn't have any.

Bikes: 1940s Fothergill, 1959 Allegro Special, 1963? Claud Butler Olympic Sprint, Lambert 'Clubman', 1974 Fuji "the Ace", 1976 Holdsworth 650b conversion rando bike, 1983 Trek 720 tourer, 1984 Counterpoint Opus II, 1993 Basso Gap, 2010 Downtube 8h, and...

I don't, but it seems to me that in a pinch I've used a standard M5x0.8 nut, and it was okay.

As far as I know, those terminal studs are 2BA (BA=British Associated).
I think you'll have to Google for 2BA brass nuts...

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

Just confirmed on one of my Dynohubs: M5 x 0.8 or UNF 10-32 nuts will fit on the Dynohub output posts.

I've just looked in a Sturmey Archer catalogue. The nuts are definitely 2BA - (PtNo. - GL613).

cool, thanks everyone. finding a BA threaded nut in BFE Kansas is going to be interesting... may have to try the metric or UNF sizes. Hell, I don't even know any sources for BA anymore.

scratch that: google is my friend.... :-)

If you enjoy waiting for packages to come from over the pond, there's this option:

Sturmey Archer gears, new and used wheels, rims, SA hubs, gear controls, rod brakes for Sturmey Archer

There are loads of sources for BA nuts, so long as you're prepared to buy a big bag of 'em.!

If anyone else is looking for 2 BA, Fastenall has them, for about 47 cents each.

And sometimes close enough is close enough.
