Bike Identification - help!
Hi everyone,
New guy here. I bought a 1974 Schwinn Voyageur II a few years ago strictly as a commuting tool to avoid DC traffic. After commuting 20 miles a day, I fell in love with it and cycling. Anyways, I recently decided to find an old bike and restore it. I posted an add on Facebook and some nice lady told me she a road bike in storage. I picked it up for 20 dollar without knowing what it was going to be. It ended up being a Univega. That's all i know. Does anyone know the model and year? Any info would be great!
Thanks!

Hello Badmitten,
Welcome to the forum. Very nice bike you found.
Those top mount shift levers are a big clue for dating as they were only popular for a short span about 1982-83.
The Univega experts will be along momentarily with more and better information on your find.

It's got the crank reducers that permit you to use "normal" pedals instead of the original Dyna Drive drop-center pedals, and someone swapped out the original aero stem. Probably about '82.

Thanks for the replies. The more I look at this thing as it sits in my living room, the more Inwish it was my size. Is this the sort of bike I could sell for some
Profit to find a bike that fits me? Again, total newbie here. I haven't even gotten a proper fitting.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. The model name seems to be rubbed off. Frame is in great shape, but there are numerous scratches and rubs that go down to bare metal. Thinking about stripping it down to bare metal and starting over...
