Identify this Sherpa?

Hi all. I'm not new here, but I don't post much! Anyway. I'm looking for a bike to get me to and from work this summer and I found this bike which I cannot find any info for on Google.

Here is the ad:
SHERPA BIKE

Obviously when I google Sherpa bike nothing but Rocky Mountain bikes appear and I somehow doubt that's what this is. I saw another post on here by someone with a similar bike and someone said it was definitely not a Rocky Mountain... But I have yet to be able to find anything on this bike regardless. I tried asking the owner some questions about it and he just told me to come look. It's an hour away. Does anyone here have any idea what it is?

Note, before you voice your outrage at the price, that $200 is about as low as you can go for a vintage bike in Vancouver... Just last night I sold an old Raleigh mixte frame with rusted and seized components for $60... so, that's just how our market is (great for bike thieves! )

It appears to be a low end bike with claw derailleur hanger and stem shifters and the wheels are suspiciously shiny a la chrome. You can do better for $220, even in Vancouver.

Sherpa were Costco bikes back in the day. Many were low end but some had XT7000 groupset a, meaning they had great complimentary on them. Still that price is pretty high even in a hot market.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought it was probably low end.

I've seen one of these before in another BF thread. That one was 1983, with some upgrades. This one looks to be about the same vintage. Agree with entry level assessment. Probaly a private label brand.

I've got a dorado sherpa, definitely costco housebrand but upper echelon. MTB tange tubing and a wonderful ride, Sherpa's aren't particularly special and your specimen seems to be fairly low end.
