Here is a question for those who might be more familiar with the Huret setup. Is there any way to shorten up the near 180 degree throw of the shift levers to move from low to high gear? These are REALLY long arc shifters!

are the dt shifters simplex?

i had the same issue with the simplex shifters on my early '70s pr10, and i didn't find a solution other than removing every bit of slack from the cable. the throw was still rather long, even though it was just a 5-speed.

The down tube shifters are Huret also. All of the slack is out of the cables, and I don't see that there are any other adjustments to be made to shorten the throw of the levers. Wondered if this was just a Huret deal? Never have experienced such a long throw arrangement!

I used to say that I'm stuck in the "Cosby Show" era (1984-1992) of cycling technology, but I need a new reference point for that time period. Any suggestions?

The Simplex shifters on the Grand Prix require more movement to change than the Campagnolo shifters on the International.
I wonder what period Huret are like?

Ooh, I can dig it. Just realized that the span between the first two "Terminator" movies was 1984-1991 as well. Sorry for the hijack.

Such a classy and tough looking. Sometimes a bike has that inviting ride me look, and ride it hard.

This one has a bit carry over 1960's decal style too.

Dig the top tube cable clips, the chrome socks with that color blue. Chunky rubber ready for anything.

Yes, the PX10 is a good Strada Bianche bike and is used on gravel often. Most 1980's models might not take a 32mm tire and might not even take a 28.
