Too Much Matching?

I just got a good deal on some pedals, and I'm trying to decide which bike they belong on. My aesthetic sense is sometimes a bit off, so I'd like so outside opinions. What do you think? Is this too much red?

For the sake of discussion, pretend that the frame and the pedals are very nearly the same shade of red. I think they are, but the frame catches light better and I used a flash to take the picture.

The alternative is this:

...or a newer Egg Beater with a black spindle and a few black trim pieces but still mostly silver.

A shot of the full bike would be better, hard to tell from these pictures.

Bikes: One of everything and three of everything French

I prefer the contrast of red pedals on silver cranks. I'll reserve the right to change my mind when full pic is posted.

The red pedals clash with the frame. Ugh!

Yes, too much red, as well as conflicting shades. Stick with silver pedals.

None of those pedals match - eggbeaters are for mountain bikes!

(just kidding)

The reds are off a bit in that light, need to see whole as mentioned. I have a feeling it may look good but if you have purple bar wrap or something that won't help. Haha

Red pedals are faster. And when you're riding, who notices the pedals?

My opinion is that egg beaters look silly...but the red ones at least kind of look like a pedal

Neither of those pedals! Red is too much (and shades are not the same)...and the Egg Beaters just look wrong

That's the way to go! While you're at it, pretend the crank is red, too... and pretend it's not quite so ugly... and, oh, heck, just keep your eyes on the road ahead and don't worry about how the bike looks.

I think the red pedals look really cool but consider the source...

Bikes: Fuji, Focus,Felt. 20 more letters to go.

If it matters to you, follow the general fashion advice: if it's not an exact match it doesn't work. Go for contrast (black) or neutral (silver).

Now about your kit, especially the shoes . . .

Yeah- listen to the girl.

You don't want fashion advice coming from me.

No one in the parking lot before the group ride will even notice. But I would go with silver.

I've got anodized purple handlebar ends going on my burgundy mountain bike, so perhaps my opinion is not the best, but I'd agree with jyl. Cant see my pedals when I'm riding, don't care what color they are!

The Golden Boy - if that's you, I think your fashion sense is spot on! You deftly got away with wearing plaid pants and you weren't on a golf course.

The closer you get to Milwaukee, the more you see that.....
Besides, Flea would approve.

...or go back in time a bit.
