Benotto Mixte

Winter project for my daughter, sort of a classic pie ride meets urban thrashing. I'm guessing this is an late '70s / early '80s Lady 500, Benotto 10 speed.

I left lots original, but we agreed the cockpit just wasn't happening, and I made some swaps out of the parts box. Found some old Bullmoose bars and went from there, more practical and a tad more aggressive. New 700c Sun wheelset, B18, studded BMX pedals.

This is a surprisingly fast bike. I've paced her on a hybrid, and found it real work to keep up. Turned out to be a great project. This may have been a cheaper Benotto in its day, but nothing but love for their workmanship.

Nice! I like those. Their geometry is much racier than most other mixtes. Mrs non-fixie has one, and it's quickly becoming her favorite bike. Calls it her fast bike.

I recall your post and others from some time again. I think those posts may have influenced my decision to pick this candidate for a rebuild. Thanks !
