i have a raleigh marathon mixte with raleigh 575sl main frame tubing made in taiwan. i reckon late 86 or 87. it is going to need a new headset, the crown race is 27mm. i am looking at the velo orange 1' threaded jis or perhaps the origin8 set, but the o8 set has a tall stack height. both are around $28. any other choices out there?

Go Tange. Find your stack height first

i come up with 38.1 stack height. the origin8 is 42,5, for sure that will not work. there is this japan made tange seiki at 30.6. i might get away with adding a washer from the current headset or shaving the steerer tube.
