Hi All,thanks for the add.I recently obtained an Alco Villager 3 24 inch model Single speed-in decent shape,mostly just needed the wheels trued.Does anyone know where I could get a copy of an owners manual? I have trouble getting any power behind my Pedaling-the seat does seem a bit low-help to raise it?I'm unable to ride a 2 wheeler(medical Issues,and Balance(or lack of)..lol.Any ideas/tips/suggestions would be welcome. When we sold them back in the 70s, I don't remember an owner's manual - we gave the customer a test drive.
Raising the seat should help your legs generate more power; adding a 3-speed hub will also help (any good bike shop could install it for you). To raise the seat, loosen the seatpost nut, and the rear "U" seat support should have enough holes at the bottom of each leg to raise the seat.
