Bikes: Still a garage full

Khs turbo

During my eastern Long Island respite, I picked up this super clean KHS Turbo as part of a 2 bike deal, the other being an Alyeska (that's 2 of them this year!). The Shimano group is Arabesque and the 700c wheels are Campy hub/Mavic rear anodized black and an RSX hub/Rigida aero rim front. That RSX hub and the rear on the Alyeska are a match.

Anyone know the following about the KHS:

Frame year?
Original group?
27" rims originally? Second photo depicting front brake reach seems to indicate so.

Thanks in advance.

Bikes: '74 Raleigh International utility; '98 Moser Forma road; '92 Viner Pro CX upright

Arabesque was introduced in '78 and was big for a few years on high-grade road bikes from both sides of the pond (and are still very nice components)

Probably '82 or so, Shimano 600, 27's. I bet it's original except for the wheels and saddle. It would be a keeper for me. I love that shade of blue.

The subject bicycle should be circa 1981-1983 and probably closer to the end on the range based on the contrasting head tube. Shimano 600EX, which I believe was OEM, was manufactured 1978-1983 but didn't have the recessed brake mounting nuts option until 1981. The tubing decal looks like the Tange #2 decal from this period. The brake pads are marginal, even at the bottom of the caliper slots, so the frame does appear to have been designed for 27" wheels. I do have some old KHS specs that I can try to dig out but pending that the serial number may allow us to determine the exact age.
