Fork shimmy when braking

Stronglight Bernard Hinault, which is also possibly one of the lightest headsets ever made. Or if you REALLY wanna go weight weenie, I just got a 58cm Vitus 979 frame, hehe. I'd do an even trade frame for frame.
You could end up sub 20 without trying all that hard.,,,,BD

Bikes: It's complicated.
I'll bring a little closure to this one. Filed down the brake caliper so I could eliminate the spacer. Looks like it got rid of the the shudder although those blades sure flex when the brakes grab hard. New brakes and new wheels so I'm guessing the extra grab is just flexing those thin-walled blades.
I'm calling this one fixed but will continue to monitor closely. Pics of the surgery:
Disassembled the 5800 brake caliper and filed down the part of the caliper interfering with the headset

Quick touch up with a paint pen

Able to mount with no interference!

I also filed down my 5800 front brake caliper to help clear the headset. I didn't file mine down quite as much as yours, but I still need to use three washers behind the caliper. The offending portion of the brake caliper seems really beefy, so we should be fine right?? I sure hope so...I've got about 200 miles post-filing with no issues.
