Tell him you will send his shotgun shells back one at a time if he doesn't leave you alone. Well at least the contents of the shells.

I didn't think E-Bay allowed the sale of guns and ammo.

Are they spent shells?

Something I learned early in life from an event I don't want to rehash: Don't screw with irrational people who keep artillery and have your address. This is not a good combination.

Was probably trying to get you to ship the shells to the correct address of the person who bought them, which is why it wasn't the PayPal address. I'm guessing this person - who is potentially not rational - is probably trying to right a wrong by cross-shipping. My guess is they have a buyer out there who is wanting their shotgun shells and equally raising hell.

F that. Maybe he's trying to get the shot guns shells to someone who shouldn't have them.

My advice, drop the shells off at your local police station, tell them you found them in the garage or attic or basement and didn't know the proper way to dispose of them. Then let eBay do their thing then hammer the guy with negative feedback.

I had not thought of that... Interesting perspective.
I would not want to ship it forward w/o fully disclosing the contents, probably not allowed to USPS it...

So finally the question. If I close the dispute can I open up another one in a week or so when it doesn't show up? Does the window for the money back guarantee extend when a dispute has opened? Is this a typical scam pattern?
Questions like this are best asked directly to Ebay, since rules change and BFers may accidentally give you the wrong answer.

Ebay has a community forum for asking questions too.

Denouement

Got my payment refunded today when I asked eBay to "step in". Took less than an hour after I clicked the button. The USPS tracking #, not surprisingly as it was a Priority Mail #, never had an item shipped under it. I left neg feedback for the guy.

No, he wasnt. he wanted me to ship the shells back him. The $7 to some weird pp addy was to ship them back to him.

I gave him negative feedback and i had to tell Ebay he was harassing me.

As if that wasnt enough drama ( that and the tire )! I ordered a saddle bag for $3 off Amazon in August. The person has closed their shop since and has given me THREE tracking numbers, none are valid.

Im having terrible luck! Im glad it worked out Spaghetti Legs

I didn't read everything, so excuse if some of this info is redundant.

If you file an item not as described claim with ebay, the seller will be forced to send you a prepaid shipping label (at his expense) back to him. Then send the item. Once it shows delivered on tracking, ebay will refund you everything you initially paid him (including shipping). You will be out nothing.

Guy is a scumbag. neg him to hell and back.

I've stopped dealing with this stuff. I pay as soon as the auction is over. I send a message requesting shipping info 3 business days after payment is made. If I don't get tracking info within a week I start a claim. I've worried with sellers too many times to go through a lot to grief over something but I've never bought anything that there wasn't more around for just a little more money. All it takes is just an update, 3 minutes to reply to a message for everything to go smoothly, if they can't do that I'd just as soon get my money back and move on.
