Beacon road bike

Hello , I was at a friends yesterday and he had a Beacon road bike in his basement , unfortunately it was difficult to access due to the number of bikes surrounding it. Barends and the looks of decent components and maybe late 70's or early 80's. Just curious.

There used to be a bicycle importer/distributor located in Oakland, California by this name. IIRC they did have some house branded bicycles. Possible, it could be one of theirs. Most of the bicycles they imported were made in France.

My only experience with a Beacon was a red men's 70's in gas pipe.

That's not to say in wouldn't be an acceptable rider.

It was fairly heavy with chrome cranks and wheelset etc.

YMMV
