Scuffing of BB on Pinarello

Hi thinking about this bike but wondering about this scuffing on BB. Is this normal anything to worry about?

Bikes: 1986 Alan Record Carbonio, 1985 Vitus Plus Carbone 7, 1984 Peugeot PSV, 1972 Line Seeker, 1986(est.) Medici Aerodynamic (Project), 1985(est.) Peugeot PY10FC

That's most likely from using one of those home service stands that hook on to the down tube and cradle the BB shell. Those stank makers put vinyl rubber tubing on the cradle portion of the stands to avoid this type of damage on bkes, but the tubing padding usually split and fall 9ff after some time causing direct contact between the stand metal and the BB shell paint, which then cause the paint wear you see......... Don't ask how I know......

How bad would you consider this damage? Heres the rest of the bike.

Bikes: Yes

Most bikes have some scuffing down there. If not obvious damage to bb I would clean up with a little filing/sanding of the exposed metal.

Bumped this, but can someone tell me how bad they think this damage to BB shell is? Does scraping look deep is that a gouge? little hard to tell with dirt/grease around it.

That does not look like any mechanical damage to the BB shell whatsoever. Just to the paint.

Looks like it is chrome under the paint. Also looks like an earlier Pin, based on the decals, but what do I know. The price looks steep for the quality of condition. Since it was stored, good that some oil was left on. It might look good after a gentle clean up.

The decals typically fall off so that isn't a consideration, really.

Bikes: A bunch of old bikes and a few new ones

The pics of the bike did not come through (other than the first pic of the BB). Of all the places I would lose zero sleep over missing paint, the BB would be near the very top of the list. Easy enough to touch up and it's obviously not visible when riding.

Portacatena dropouts put it circa 1978-1982 but recessed brake mounts put it in the newer end of the range. BB abrasion is probably due to a mid-1980s windtrainer. Damage is cosmetic. If the OP is concerned about gouging, I'd be more worried about the grooves the gear cables are sawing into the BB shell.
