'89 Holland-a new project

Picked this up last night. I'll build it this winter with 7400 and then ride.....

Pardon the garage mess. I'm mid-way through building new cabinets....

Bikes: A few

Looks like a nice frame. Never seen that style of fork shoulders before. Wonder why they went with the smoked pink. Did they use the same hazing on the blue and it does not show up as well ?

Should build up smart looking. I am beginning to like the cable routing through the top tube a lot more.

Bikes: '85, '86 , '87 , '88 , '89 Centurion Dave Scott Ironman.

Cool colors. Is that one of the steep angled tri bikes? What size wheels does it take? Looking forward to your build pics.

Threaded fork is a bit of a surprise for 89'.

Bikes: Bikes??? Thought this was social media?!?

I like Phil's choice of frame maker. and the ride will be heavenly?
JB paint must be about the best going.
Even the size is attractive for a 6'er.
Major kudos.

2nd for more pics in different lighting schemes to see paint more diversely. When possible. Everyone needs a worthy winter project.

Bikes: Are several.

That's incredible. Great bike, and great condition for 27 years young.

I was one or two spots in line away from buying a very nice Bill Holland steel frame set here a few years back, and subsequently purchased a much-newer Holland Ti road frame (which is a definite keeper). A ~61cm steel Holland is on my short list, but they come up quite rarely.

As already mentioned, it's hard to beat Joe Bell for paint! And this is a pretty unique scheme...

7400 will be just perfect.

From the look of your bike list, this Holland will be in good company (Litton, Eisentraut, Landshark - West Coast customs, FTW).

Looks to be pretty conventional geo. Haven't measured.

700c

Smoke is only on the pink. The blue is really kind of purple. I'll take some outdoor pics and post them up.

I've been looking for a Holland and this one was stuck up high in my LBS and we kicked it around for a bit before we made a deal. I'm stoked on the colors, the finish work, everything.

Likewise, however my '93 Steelman has a threaded fork as well-carbon....and the '89 Landshark is threaded steel, original.

+1 on the fork crown being unusual. The more I see of the American builders the more I appreciate their work, and the JB paint is awesome.

Bikes: Too many to list, all titanium or steel.

If you go into the Holland show/fitting room they often have frames that have been traded in on a new bike or somehow came back to the maker. Most are titanium but I've seen a couple of old steel frames. I had myself fitted for a Ti frame and Bill even let me take his personal titanium bike for a week since we ride the same size, and it was wonderful to ride. I'm still saving my pennies for a custom frame.
