In search of Herse blue
So my Raleigh In'tl project, currently under the cutting knife/brazing torch in Dr. gugie's laboratory, will be powder coated. Choosing a color is a challenge. What I would like is something as close as possible to the blue on this Herse:
HerseBlue
Prismatic offers the following possibilities:
Sea foam pearl:
final_pi_Sea Foam Pearl PMB-6797
RAL-6034:
final_pi_PSS-4680
Troll blue:
final_pi_pss-2657
Navajo nugget:
final_pi_Navajo Nugget PSB-6838
Anyone opinions on these colors or, even better, has anyone found a closer match?

Hmm, a Portland-based torch wielder alerts me to this Surley blue used previously on the Cross Check. Anyone know the PC code?

I think what you want is a mix of 6034 and Navajo Pearl, something like 70/30%. Can that be done?
Otherwise I think 6034 is very nice by itself.
(Edit) I wrote that based on your first post only. 6027 looks very promising.

Groody Brothers did my Roberts. Automotive clear coat over the powder. Looks like wet paint.

Bikes: 1940s Fothergill, 1959 Allegro Special, 1963? Claud Butler Olympic Sprint, Lambert 'Clubman', 1974 Fuji "the Ace", 1976 Holdsworth 650b conversion rando bike, 1983 Trek 720 tourer, 1984 Counterpoint Opus II, 1993 Basso Gap, 2010 Downtube 8h, and...
They all look good to me. In fact I will probably be using one of them myself.
Which color looks best will probably come down to the way the graphics look, in contrast etc. So: what graphics do you have in mind?
For what it's worth, I think I would get the stock Raleigh Sports decal set from about 1960 and use it selectively --omit the word "sports" for example.

Ha!
I was thinking along those lines as well, but best I came up with was Gugleigh.

Here's my daughter's Sedazzari powder coated by Brooker in PDX. RAL-6034 sounds familiar but not positive. PM if you want a closer look.
Edit: My daughter thinks the color was Sea Foam.

Thanks for that input! Here's RAL-5024:

Here's another in that color:

I like that color a lot though it might be a shade or two darker than the Herse color in the first photo.
As far as decals, initially I thought I'd just go with the original head badge, but I might go for the cursive "Raleigh" on the downtube and the red font "International" on the top tube, both of which it had originally.

Hmm, I initially thought the Troll Blue came the closest in brightness, but must agree with due ruote that it's a little lavender-leaning. The RH blue is a little more aqua. A lighter shade of the "Navajo Nugget" would be promising!

I agree it appears to lean toward the purple in real life. Going by computer images of color chips is inadequate for color matching. Colors can vary depending on the photography, lighting, and your computer monitor, among other things. Try to get a hold of some real color samples.
Most powder coat places can color match to a chip, though of course it will cost you more.
Alternatively, the color shown below is pretty much what you are looking for. Being a spray can, it's not going to self level off the gun. You would need to rub it out by hand, and clear coat it with something good. Enamel was what the originals used, though I'd assume they were baked.

OkSorry, I meant 6034 - the second one down. Do a Google image search for "robin's egg". That's what you want:

The originality of the decals is relevant, but keep in mind that the original decals and original color were chosen to work together. Blindly assuming the original decals will work well with a completely different color, this is gambling.

You're going to look at me funny but I had a Ford Tempo that seemed to be as close to that as you could get...look it up. I think that was called Coral Blue.
