It appears to be missing its dork disc.

Bikes: It's complicated.

Does it come with the small allen wrench that The Prophet carried with him for mid-race micro saddle corrections?

Bikes: Too many to list

I understand the pricing on the Merckx bike, but you would have to be a crazed Uber fan to go for that Gan collection without anything from Gilbert Duclos Lasalle in there

Sorry, not going to bite, there is no longer any service to Paris, by Air France, using le Concordé. If you can't go big, go home. But not to France.

Bikes: Yes

For that kind of money, I think I'd want certification from Eddy too. On the other hand, there have been less interesting sports memorabilia sold for a lot more money.

For that kind of money, I would want Eddy to give it to me personally and hang out with me for a couple weeks. Maybe let me spend a week or two a year at his house.

That made me think of the Huret Jubilee entry over at Disraeli Gears:

Brian Eno once confessed that he liked to explain to ‘young people’ that, back in the bad-old-low-tech-flared-trousered-analogue days things were so backward that you could fly from London to New York in three and a half hours and men regularly walked on the Moon. He might have added that you could buy an off-the-peg touring derailleur that weighed 145g.

Actually pretty cool. Team bikes and extra's, legit. Approx. $xxxx each if breaking down. What if one sold them off individually? Thoughts on value?

I was trying to do the rough math on that myself -- a hair under 4k apiece basically

Stuart O' Grady is the only big fish in that list of bike's though , ---- his machines would command that much --- the others? Subject to speculation I guess

No shipping, if you can buy this rare bike, you can buy a ticket for a flight and take the bike by yourself in France ;-)

Quote from the ad --- stereotypical Frenchman

I wonder if you made the arrangements to pick up if he would just meet you at the French version of Wal Mart a'la a Craigslist score , then drive off leaving a dainty little plume of cigarette smoke in his wake

What I am wondering is...Will he throw in a carton of Gauloises with the deal?

Wow, Gauloises mentioned twice in one day, in different threads. That's pretty damn funny. Smoke 'em if ya got 'em!

You know, for the first time, I realized I get more excited by just one grail bike then a dozen all at once.
