Thanks for the comps everyone :)

Great bike and an extraordinary restoration. Enjoy!

That is one of the nicest presentations of white bar tape bar none. Classic black and white mix and the suntour group also looks sweet.
Now go make it dirty and show us some ride pics. |

Ha! Then one of us would have paid too much
(Well, except in actual weight; in that category, I'm actually a Clyde.) ;) |

Thank you, Scooper. Yeah, Just south of Jax in Orange Park. I think I saw in a thread that you have family here?

Very nice!

Beautiful build, enjoy!

The vintage components look brand new. The black and white color scheme makes the bike look BETTER than the new one seen in the 1986 Schwinn catalog photograph. Wow. Nice job.

Well done! I have an '85 . . . gonna have to keep an eye out for an '86 now.
Really looks great. Love the Cyclone and the black pedals. |
Nice! I was also watching this frame; glad it got built up right and proper (and that neither of us drove up the price)!

Not bad but you really need to... or maybe...
Nope, you got it all right. Looks great and surely rides just as nice as it looks. |

LittleGinseng, not a criticism of that absolutely perfect Peloton, what was the sticker/decal on the lower end of the seat tube? I can't make out what it was from the fragments, and I am not any kind of Schwinn expert at all.
Again, that is one beautiful, well executed bike you built, kudos sir! Bill |

Again, that is one beautiful, well executed bike you built, kudos sir! Bill That decal was once the Columbus SL/SP tube set decal. I'm looking for another in original form. I'm sure if I wait long enough one will turn up on the Bay. Thank you :) |
Simply beautiful. Great choice in components.
Imagine to show up the grid sporting this kit from Primal Wear :) https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....SR280,320_.jpg |
I like it! Just hope it doesn't clash with my Duegi's.

Sheesh, that Suntour group looks NOS. I've always loved the looks of the Superbe group. How does that group perform? Thats one group I havent had any experience with. Just might be my next group to start sourcing.
Yes, it's NOS. With the exception of the brake levers, pedals and straps, every part is either NOS or new. The crank set I removed from the Maruishi when I acquired a Superbe Pro crank. My Club Fuji came stock with the same Cyclone derailleurs. Love it! Shifting is smooth and quiet. IMO,the only major difference between Superbe and Cyclone of the mid 80's was aesthetic. Superbe Pro was a bit lighter with a better finish, but they all performed similarly. |

Thank you :) Just scroll through the various Columbus offerings, I imagine your specific one is there. They had a dead on SL decal, for the Pro-Strada I built last spring. Bill |
Great Build! I also have an 86 Peloton, but it didn't come with a seatpost clamp bolt. I've been searching for the correct one for quite awhile now. I know it's a strange request, but if it's not too much trouble, could you take yours out and post a picture?
