I know exactly what you mean: things behave very differently on small scales, it makes you feel very ham-fisted.

This is a great conversation piece, and I remember why I stopped building scale models, a decade or two back, now. Too many periods of getting cross-eyed from looking at the tiny parts. Your usual attention to detail really showed up on this one.

Thanks Bill! I'll be glad to get back to proper full-sized bikes though. I'll be starting a new build this week.

Nice work on the Tommasini by the way. J.

These models appear on eBay from time to time. Usually go for $50 - $100 depending on the type of bike.

This was my first model, so it was quite a learning experience. I don't think I'll do another though...

Thanks! It's painted, double-sided tape, which was stuck on the tire and then clear-coated. Worked out quite well.

I have the same kit, pictures please?

Hi, I have the exact same kit I got on Ebay last year. I can't see your pictures because I think you reached your share limit. Can you please re-submit or get that sorted? Really looking forward to seeing your project.

Many thanks
Paul. UK

Hi Paul,

I've re-posted all the pictures using Imgur. They are now at higher resolution than the old Photobucket versions.

My advice: keep the kit in the box. The end result is not worth the frustration!

Cheers,
RealSteel.

Hi, just bought myself a Protar Colnago Mexico. In my naivity I did not expect it to be such an elaborate process, I even though the frame would be already painted : ))).

I am in quite a bit of shock and I just put it out from the box, stare at the parts and put it back. At first glance the bits are intact, except one spoke has 5mm of the tip broken, still in the bag - is this solvable somehow?

I looked at your post and the result of your work is astonishing!!!

Not sure what to do, would you have a list of minimum tools/ materials I should use if I make myself courage to dive into it?
