helluva deal

Nashbar has Vittoria Rubino Pro-Tech III tires in 700x25 on closeout sale for $17.50 each after the 30% discount. I bought a set in 28mm (no longer available) and a set in 25mm a few months ago. Great training/touring/commuting tires! Folding bead, 150tpi and a flat-resisting belt, yet only 250g in 25mm!

I've always liked Vittorias. I have some 27" x 1 1/4" on the Trek 620, that are tough as heck. I've lost count of how many times I definitely hit glass (not intentionally, lol), and it didn't even mark the tire, much less flat it. That's a pretty good tire.

My Jamis came with Vittoria Zaffrio Pro Slick tires. At 5 years and around 4000 miles, they are still going strong.

I see Nashbar raised the cutoff for free shipping to $99.

That's it, Zaffrio. Which translates to sapphire, if you have to look it up like I did awhile back.

I like Rubino Pros. I don't know how different the Rubino Pro Tech is from the regular Rubino Pro. If I needed tires, I might pick up a pair to find out.
