Reassembly is next.

Lambie moving along nicely; thanks for the update!

Observing kit: looks like you elected not to use the Lambie shift lever set. Wondering why you have prepared a Maeda down tube cable guide when frame exhibits bottom bracket cable guides. What be the Lark looking stern mech, Sun Race or somesuch? (Me auld peepers insufficiently discerning to see more detail). Have you arrived at a pedal selection?

Fine work progressing forward there in the city of Saint Matthew!

later edit:

Now see why the presence of the Maeda guide. PO was running a top normal Maeda front mech and they needed a housing stop for it. juvela - "not the sharpest tack in this or any other box!"

Lol, funny stuff,Juvela! Actually those are the original Lambert shifters. As for the RD, it didn't come with one so I had to source something from my parts bin. It's just a Shimano RS. As for pedals, it will have to be my original pedals from my Shogun (forgot what Japanese brand they are). I'd like some pair of MKS one day. We'll see.

My 72 Lambert had a normal English threaded bottom bracket. One of the first tools I bought was a Campy wrench and crank remover.

Started reassembly today. Waiting on my bar tape to arrive. Also have some new-old parts, if I can make them fit. Used a pair of Mafac brake levers only because of the half-hoods.
This bike feels lighter than my Shogun that has aluminum wheels!

Yay or nay on the bike pump? It's just a leftover from my Shogun.

Mocked fit some fenders. Fronts fit perfectly. Rears are a pain. Might need smaller tires and/or better fenders. These were from a Japanese cruiser I have.

Coming along nicely Rob!

Thank you for the update.

Detailing question -

You mentioned you touched up the paint. I always find flambouyant finishes quite the challenge, much more so than opaques. Can you say something about your technique? Have a red flambouyant Lejeune close to this colour that needs a spot of attention.

Thanks for any tips.

Thanks Juvela! Hit a little bump with the chainrings (apparently they assembled this brand with the stamping on the inboard side). I'm used to the Japanese chainrings with stamping on the outside. Was wondering why the chain wedged between the largest and middle. Good thing I take pics before disassembly for reference.

Detailing: Not much to do really. I was lucky the color was close to my car's. Sedona Red Pearl Subaru color. I have a bottle of touch up paint and used that. Then clear coated it with 3 coats. That's it. Nothing special.

Thanks for the response Rob!

Knew car Subaru but did not know its livery.

Dentition marking on inner face is part of their copying of traction avant.

Does the price sticker on the steerer bear perchance the name of the retailer? Would be fun if it turned out to be someone like Talbot's or Triple E.

Finished. Tires arrived the other day. Was able to fabricate a bracket for the rear fender. Used some parts from the bin to mount it.

Finally had a chance to take it out for a ride. I like how this thing rides. Smooth, quiet, and light.

A minor point, but you have the "clocking" between the crank arm and the outer ring incorrect. When installed in the correct orientation the arm should be centered between the chainring spiders like this:

Thanks for the heads up. Maybe in the future I'll take it apart again.
