Fothergill is closer

Closer to being what it should be. I now have 32/40 rims with hi-flange Campy 3piece hubs. This is the original 1955 Grand Sports. will still need to chase down some parts but at last it's going in the correct direction

Bikes: Many, and the list changes frequently

Nice. Love to see this sort of thing.

Very exciting project. The Fothergills and the Longstaffs are two of my favorites. Is that a chrome spoke protector? Nice paint!

Yes a REG. Yesterday I checked all my Williams sprockets for the correct type 3/16 but could not find the one needed---back to Ebay!

Williams sprockets? Your freewheel was made by Williams? I have some extra Atom sprockets from a 4-speed.
By-the-way, how did you find a matching pair of 32H-40H rims?

The freewheel is a 4 speed Regina the BB is Bayless Wiley and the sprocket/arms are Williams. Rims are Worbler /Mavic. Both are box shaped rims in hi polished alum ( with hook bead ) Both in 27" size.

not a Williams sprocket, it is a Williams chainring.
That Campagnolo GS RD is for a 5 speed freewheel using a 3/32" chain.

I am unsure of your reference to a "correct type 3/16"
A 3/16" chainring is going to require a 3/16" chain and I don't think that would go through the RD.
And I don't ever recall a 3/16" multispeed freewheel in the 1950s.
This is from Holdsworth's Aids in 1955 from the V-CC Library.

It will be interesting to see if you can use the limit screws to restrict the derailleur to the 4 speed freewheel range.

Your right my bad--3/32 chain ring (they did use 3/16 chain but only on war bikes) I'm sure the GP will work just fine on the 4 speed.
