Interesting frame. Long serial number and stamped dropouts, but cool fork crown and other lugs.

Internal cable routing is interesting. I'll try to get a drive-side pic. Any ideas?

If anyone local (San Francisco) is interested in the frame, fork, headset, crank, seatpost, I'll trade it all for a rear Record skewer or something similar.

Those are so cool! Too bad I on the other side. Any idea what the original colour might be?

I can't tell the original color. PO says it was disassembled and painted black and then never fully reassembled. The black looks like a decent auto-paint job, not rattle can. There are some deep storage scrapes but I can't tell if what's underneath is chrome. Looks like it's not copper.

Maybe [MENTION=103617]jetboy[/MENTION] will take it for his community bike center?

I did not realize you had a community bike center...is it the Changing Gears shop in Alameda by any chance?

no mine is very small out the back of our woodshop on campus at the university of san francisco. Any overflow I usually bring to changing gears actually- I can only handle 6-10 bikes at a time.

I agree, it's world weary. I bought it for the Campy large flange hubs but was suprised by the eclectic mixe of parts. It also came with Suntour barcons, Suntour V luxe RD, an ancient but tanklike Shimano FD with holes which I can't ID (Disraeli gears is mostly RDs), and anframe pump marked "Spain". One QR is MM Atom. Retina Oro sprocket and Wolber rims.

The Suntour downtube stop is beefy - - makes Campy ones look like foil.

I have no need for any of it, but I might have a Campy skewer: do you want Nuovo Record (for 120-126 spacing) or something newer?

I'm not especially Campy literate, but I do want the type for 120/126 spacing. This is the one that is on the front but I'm not sure it is correct for the large flange hub it came on, or even correct for itself. The nut says Brev but the lever is curved and says patent. I don't know if that means it's a mismatch:

Ideally I'd have a matched set of Record or NR skewers but on the bike I'm building they don't have to be perfect or correct. I'd like them to match, however.

Good front DR. An early 70's one from Shimano. Pared up with the rear Titlist or even the Crane.

I will look thru my Campy skewer stash in the next day or two and get back to you. Good chance I have something that matches this front...depending on the year it could be that this is a later version due to the curved lever but the period correct nut for an earlier skewer...I'm not an expert either but will consult the catalogs...

Ha! Well, that might be overstating things a bit but yes, I do like it. Works well (the 14T capacity stated on Velobase seems very conservative to me), well-built and looks good. What more does one want?

will do! the shop is getting torn apart this summer as they redo the windows and the steam pipes that run under it... so less is more until fall!

Great to know. I have been in the process of changing my Rapidix over to Shimano and using that very group for it. I have always like how it behaves on other builds.

[MENTION=350392]artclone[/MENTION], I found what appears to be a matching rear skewer, actually found 2 with slightly different details, but one will match.

That is the "problem" with Shimano. It just refuses to give you any excuse for buying more expensive parts. :(
