Dynohub light question

I recently picked up a 1965 Rudge Sports. It has a SA dynohub with a front light. On the back fender, where the reflector would normally be, it looks like they had a tail light set up. Does anyone know what this might have been? I've done some googling and haven't found anything.

Thanks!

Dutch market Raleighs did something similar. Not seen mudguard lights in the UK. Personally I'd order a (plain looking) modern equivalent.
