Bikes stolen last night

Hi all,
Not really the post I want to be making, but you folks are some of the more vigilant patrolling the bike corners of the web.

Last night some less than kind individuals decided to break into our shed in the Boston area and take quite a few things. Most importantly to me were my 1999 Voodoo Hoodoo that I have replaced just about every part on, and an old Moto Mirage that was the first bike I worked on with my dad as a father and son project to make a single speed.

If you happen to stumble upon a less than original looking Yellow Hoodoo or a Blue Mirage single speed with gold annoed back rim and brown grips in your internet travels please let me know.

Thank you

Bikes: 1959 Capo Modell Campagnolo; 1960 Capo Sieger (2); 1962 Carlton Franco Suisse; 1970 Peugeot UO-8; 1982 Bianchi Campione d'Italia; 1988 Schwinn Project KOM-10;

Bummer. I have been fortunate to lose only two bicycles, neither one valuable in any way, to theft -- it always hurts when someone's valued or treasured bicycle gets stolen. We'll be on the lookout on CL and other usual places.

If possible post pics of the bikes. I'd ask around at local pawn shops.

Bikes: More than I care to admit

My condolences. Happened to me in February so I feel your pain. I turned my energy into a new project and built a beautiful old Trek for my wife. Perhaps you can find a new project and make new good memories. Best of luck.

Sorry to hear about the theft.

Add the most up to date photos you have of the bikes. Do you have serial numbers? Register them with the police and https://bikeindex.org/stolen

had my trek stolen a few years ago, took a long long time to get over it. I even found a comparable bike that was newer but it still didn't fill the hole. Focus on a new project, don't dwell on it, and do your best to prevent it in the future. Security Cameras are super cheap right now on Amazon, might be worth putting some up. I'm considering doing the same, somebody went through my car a few nights ago, stupid me left the doors unlocked, luckily i didn't leave anything of value. They just went through the coin tray and took all the coins.. lol

around here the sketchy bikes seem to be on Offer Up. Craigslist is about half bike flippers and the first place people go to look. Also second the pawn shop idea.

Check; Lowell, Lawrence, Framingham and New Bedford. Brockton while you're at it.

There is a special ring in hell for bicycle thieves. Hope you get your's back. Hope the thief--well, lets just say, hope the thief gets exactly what he deserves.

Very sorry for your loss. Although I would echo CliffordK in the Bike Index lead.

https://bikeindex.org/stolen

I now take pictures of all of my serial numbers soon after any purchase and keep the image with a digital PDF of the ad. I've found stolen bikes in Portland and used Bike Index to return them. It is a powerful tool.
