Welcome to the forums. Most British 3 speeds used Sturmey Archer hubs and the easiest way to date them is via the two numeral year code stamped on the hub shell. Of course, that assumes the hub is original for the bicycle. The serial number may also help. I'm sure the members would also appreciate some pictures.
