Need help identifying frame/part

Does anyone know what the letters AB stand for? They are located on the braze-on for the cyclocross Mafac brakes. The bicycle is a Flandria cyclocross. Don't know the year of construction yet. Any suggestion appreciated!

Suspect second character an R rather than a B. The marking AR stands for Arriere, "rear."

Nah, that's too easy. It really needs an apocryphal story of a long-forgotten French master mechanic from the Poitou-Charentes called Armand Bourillon who invented the angle at which these are placed so they wouldn't squeal. Or something like that. Please.
