What's my vintage Bianchi??
Hey guys I picked up my bike 5 years ago from someone on Craigslist and I recently picked up biking again. Several people have asked me about my bike (when was it made, what model, etc.) and it just got me really curious. Help!

There are experts here (paging @bianchigirl) but I'm going to say mid-level, late 80s, maybe campione d'italia model? Do a google search for vintage bianchi catalogs and see if you can match anything up. No decals on the top tube with a model name?

Nice Superbe Pro cranks, I'd have expected Bianchi branded Ofmega's. Rear Superbe Pro derailleur as well? How about hubs, rims, markings on dropouts/fork ends?
Darn nice ride.

Bianchi logo style in conjunction with Formula II tubest places it mid-range, 1988. Looks like a frankenbiked Campione d'Italia. Of course, that assumes it is a USA model.

I believe the rear derailleurs are cylcone 7000s. Im a novice when it comes to knowing parts so I really don't know much. I'm not sure if these are original components or have been upgraded before I received the bike!
I've done some research and while I've found similar bikes between the years '86-'89, I can't seem to find one with the decal that mine has (the blue with red accents). I haven't seen a single bike on the web that's exactly like mine. No model name on the frame :/

The Bianchi logo with the line though it and the flanking triangle was only used in 1988 & 1989. The Bianchi Formula tubesets were 1986-1988. The intersection of these two data sets is 1988. This can be confirmed from the serial number.
The 1988 USA market Campione d'Italia was spec'd with SunTour 7000 rear derailleur but Modolo America brakes. The brakeset on yours is a Bianchi specific Modolo Flyer which was used on some of the Canadian models and possibly other countries.

T-Mar coming through again!
To the OP, you should consider leaving your cable lock in your bag, not wrapped around the frame. It will ding against the tubes as you ride.

Excellent bike, Bianchi vintage is the best for me. In august in the north of France dans la Somme, there is "une bourse d'échange", i hope to find a Bianchi from seventies...

Personally I wouldn't pay more than around $300 for it, but it is one of the nicer looking '88s Ive seen so depending on your market you might get $400-500 for it.
