Manta ray type seat available?

just playing with a project bike. I'd love to have the wider manta ray banana seat on it but cost is a real factor (especially since I'm not doing some kind of restoration and the bike will have no real value besides me liking it). does anyone make a repop or just similar seat that's wider than a normal banana seat? thanks.

thanks all. i subscribed to this thread but never got notices. when i google low rider seats, they're still regular narrow seats, just more nicely upholstered. i think i may try making some kind of hybrid polo/cruiser seat out of a kinda tatted polo seat i have, and see about upholstery if it works out. thanks again.

Bikes: Yes.

I have this on my Worksman. It is full sized for adults. But Bicycle haven has kids/normal sizes too. To convert a full size adult 26 inch/700c bike you will need the long 42 inch sissy bar. The seat itself doesn't have much in the way of padding. I still ride it with chamois shorts. It's fine that way. Nobodyridesbanana seats for comfort on century rides, anyway.

I am pretty sure the initial inquiry was about the unique seat found on the Manta Ray model in the late 60's- in plan view it was like a "banana" seat for the first 9" or so then flared out another 1.25-1.5" on each side? Drawing completely from memory, sparkle vinyl with a silk screened Schwinn racing stripe, about a 2" solid then .25" side stripes with the S in a circle near the aft end... if this inquiry had not come up I would have completely forgotten about it.

Bottom view of Manta-ray seatpan
Anyone notice anything yet about this seatpan? Its a reshaped banana seat that was bent in such a way to cause the sides to flare.Like someone put a 2x4 standing up in the rear of the pan and drove a car over the beak which caused it to kinda form like it does.
