My polished TB14’s weighed an actual 505gm on a digital scale, so slightly heavier then spec’d, and I would never describe these wheels as “heavy”, just not quite as light as the narrower Open Pros that preceded them. They are lovely rims that I frequently recommend, and have remained true for over 6000 miles so far. Because of their double eyelets and perceived strength, I’ve moved them over to the bike that will be the travel bike with front bag and panniers.

@jiangshi both CR and Velo-retro show it as '83. I believe that is the same or a similar timeline. I haven't seen either 84' or 85' to know for sure though.

I have an '85, I can take a picture later today.
What a great build Spaghetti! |
Very nice!
I would of course lose sleep over the cranks. But I am not normal. I do expect the guys in shiny white coats to arrive at any time now. |

Well, I have a 1984, and it is at the bottom.
Either way I like about all Cinelli. My "modernish" dream road bike would be a Starship. Hint, hint. Anyone out there? 58-60cm please. Their newer track stuff is cool too. |
Just curios, what is the final build weight on the Cinelli?
|
Great build! Blue isn't my favorite color but this is outstanding.

Here is my 1985 Supercorsa, showing the placement of the decals.

Interesting. My 84 has same decal placement, but the chain stays are not crimped.

Nice bike you ended up with. I hope the bar change brings about a better riding position. DD |

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4510/...d920cf84_c.jpg Now I'm in love with blue bikes!:D I'm really enjoying this thread as the subject bike is so similar to my 88/89 Montello in many ways.....:) |
Holy crap! What a beauty, I love this Blue and the Cinelli Blue and Gitane Blue and Peugeot blue.......

Chombi1 - the bike weighs 22.7 lbs, frame/fork/headset weight is 6.25 lbs. That Pinarello is sweet. I've mentioned elsewhere that I'm a sucker for a chrome rear triangle. Regarding blue bikes: there is a blue bike thread around here somewhere and a couple of years ago I put my Tommasini in it with its blue to white fade as my only blue bike. Now, without color ever really being a factor in a purchase decision, I have (ahem) a few blue bikes. |

I usually do not like it when people quote posts including the pictures. It just takes up space and makes scrolling boring.
Not this time. Please continue. |
It's not the bar drop. You've just gained weight.
Beautiful ride. Will carve the Parkway just fine. My kingdom for some Vento HP16's.....were I of the pasta pantalones. |

It's a beauty. Sure looks to me like it would in fact be an excellent climber.
Sometimes, it's just the build. Each bike has a personality. |

That's nice, but clearly the wrong size for you.
Tell you what: as a favor, I'll take it off your hands, just for your own good. Will pick it up at SOTR in May. Deal? |

I’m not quite sure yet, although the advantage of the 8 speed cassette and 130 spacing is I can use a more modern wheel set. I have Reynolds Solitude and DT Swiss/Velocity sets in the closet which weigh less than than the rear wheel of the current set but they wouldn’t look right on this build.
|
Nucleons are the obvious choice, but I'm not sure how that would work on 8s.
Second choice is a set of Campy Strada/Omega to Record hubs. |

Look great, ride great, durable. I have two sets here, one is earmarked for a Sintesi build that I am too lazy to finish. |

I found a set of Campy Shamals locally, got all excited for Hugh, (tubular, 8s Campy) and then saw "650c" in the description.
Bummer. Now I wonder what was running 650c back then that would have been Campy-oriented....? |
