Not picking on anyone here, but I'm pretty sure that in earlier BoC series, two pix were de rigeur. One was a photo of what you liberated from the box. The other was a teaser of the open box just before sealing it up and posting it. A bonus third picture was sometimes thrown in showing the BoC about to execute a two-point takedown of the sender's bike.

The teaser picture makes sense if you think about it. Showing a picture of the open box just after you received it but before you added our subtracted any bits is less interesting for the next person in line.

Now, I will admit to a bit of laziness here. Maybe the new Master of Crap has changed the rules. I'm too lazy to check, but not so lazy as to be unwilling to pen an overlong missive on the topic. Such is the nature of dead time on the train, I suppose.

Nope - these haven't changed:

8. Photograph the box contents as received (not a completely-revealing photo - just the box open and the crap on the top of the pile) and post (this thread is worthless without pics and all that...)
9. Photograph what you took out, but not what you put in - it's supposed to be somewhat of a surprise.
10. Bonus if you photograph the take parts once mounted or used, even if it is a long time before you use it. Not a requirement, but I think this might enhance the thread and I know I would enjoy seeing a part I contributed getting used.

Rules haven't changed, and the ratio of people not pix'ing properly to those that do hasn't changed much, as far as I can tell. BITD I treated it like a California stop, and usually allowed my posse of barking chihuahuas to do the dirty work for me.

Good to remind everyone that games have rules, however. Without a constant reminder of that, what kind of society are we?

Dang, so I've been doing it wrong all along. Thanks for the gentle (non-barking-chihuahua) correction.

No changes. Though not everyone posted the teaser and their take at the same time, most have been pretty good. I try not to be a nag and let others do the talking.

Oh dearest Master of the Craptacular,
I beseech thee to enterest the name of 'hazetguy' upon thine scroll of the favored,
Lest I might not be among the forum forlorn, weak, and the forsaken.
I do solemnly accept the terms laid forth in the opening proclamation,
To be expeditious once the Parcel Of Poo is parked upon my porch,
I shall be more than diligent in my responsibilities thenceforth,
And I pledge a vow of uploading imagery of the spoils of swag obtained by me.

in other words, can I get on the list?

Actually, you're the barking chihuahua in this situation.

For everyone, please review the rules and act accordingly. Please post a teaser and a pic of your take from the box. They do not have to be posted at the same time, but preferably in a timely fashion. Thanks everyone!

Rad! Those are 1988 Centurion IM decals for the seat stays (upside down). But you probably already knew that.

My bad, thought I'd sent it, probably fat fingered a letter in your handle and it didn't go. Copy and Paste ftw!

PM sent.

I thought we were supposed to razz them.

I was going to wear my catcher's mitt, but with a bad wing, I'll just have to barehand it. Hope it's a slow roller...

Thunkificazione!

Box slightly delayed by way of hiding in plain sight on my doorstep for a day or two.

open

my haul

A talisman that I accidentally removed from the BOC a few years ago was replaced.

On to @smontanaro!

Sometimes BOC stuff gets used, but not necessarily for its intended purpose or even on bikes...

Straps are an obvious general purpose item:

Returning an appliance cart to my uncle who lives 10 blocks from me:

However, this is definitely the first time I used them to strap my hands! We hiked 15 miles in GNP with 2,200’ of descent. I forgot my walking sticks. My knees would not have held up if I hadn’t modified these lodgepoles into walking sticks with wrist straps. A couple of zip ties and pedal straps and I was good to go - thanks BOC!

Just checking in to note that the box landed last night. Haven't opened it yet, so any photos I took now wouldn't really be much of a tease. Will try to get to it tonight or tomorrow.
