Source for quick releases for brakes
I am rebuilding a set of Dia Compe 400N brakes and they have these quick releases but mine are very rusty. Rather than scrub the rust I'd rather replace as not sure I want badly worn brake parts.
Does anyone know of a source for these? I tried eBay but no luck. It appears there were different models which makes searching the web awkward.

Soaked already and soaking again now. Just wondering how much a brake part can lose to rust and still be reliable....

I recently gave away a set of those QR’s, but from Dia Compe 500’s. I didn’t mind stripping the QR’s from the caliper because those were some *awful* brakes.
You’d have to have a really severe rust problem for rust on those QR’s to be a safety issue. But maybe, for the time/effort/cost to track down QR’s, it might be worth considering replacing the calipers.

I should have said that the chrome on these parts s a very thin coat that is flaking off. I believe that when I finish cleaning them I will be down to bare steel. If I can't find any replacements I might try a silver ant-rust paint

I almost have this bike rebuilt to factory - less tires and tubes, chain and brake pads (doubt I'd find a DID Lanier chain - whatever that was) and might go with a San Marco seat I have because the Feather FFV-85 bike seat it came with looks like just another plastic seat.
I still need a UKAI front wheel (I'll take a UKAI rim and Suntour hub and then build a wheel if I have to) and lastly a set of MKS Sylvan pedals - which are easy enough to find.
I just want to build it the way it was. I might have to change it when I am done but for now while I get what you are saying, I just want to try this as it would have been in October of 1984 when it rolled out of the Fuji factory.
