Bikes: A few too many

Building the Domenic

Hello,
I posted a few pics of a frame and a few components that were on it when I bought it...a campy record and a super record RD along with a campy seat post and a turbo saddle.I am getting ready to do the build with some of the parts that I have stored over the years and am contemplating what group or years that I will hang on the frame.

According to the BB it is an 85 or a bit later depending on when things get stamped...if they are stamped current to the build then it is an 85. I do like the older Crecord stuff but the newer Groups seem to go well with the bike aesthetically. I am not building the bike by consensus but would like opinions from the members.
Posting some of the as found before I start.

I did contact Tomassini as well ss Domenic's to confirm that yes Tomassini did, in fact, build a number of Team Stradas for Domenic's in Arizona and mine is one of them.
sorry for the upside down pic looked right in the frame.
nice pantos on the frame and rear brake bridge

I did manage to luck out and find some original decals that may work but the glue seems really dry and they area little fragile but I will give them a try to see if they can be salvaged.

Bikes: A few too many

It is a little chilly this morning but I would like to see if the decals will work or fall apart in the water.

The first pass and so far so good at least the decals did not desitragrate, I am not sure if the adhesive is still good so I may need to clear them

So far so good.
Best, Ben
I don't know why the images are rotated...anyone have a clue how to change them?

Bikes: Yes

I passed on a Domenic's Tommasini and regret it. Look forward to seeing this one built up.

Bikerider007,
When I saw the bike at first I did not recognize the pantos and had a hard time getting the information but looked to the forum and sure enough found out that is was a Domenic's built for the shop in Arizona.
I reached out to Tommasini with some pics and they verified that it was built by them for Domenic as his shop's Team Strada.
The decals are a little brittle so I may resort to Elmer's white glue and perhaps a clear on top of that but I will see.
I am not sure what group to hang on it and will post some different options after the decals are on. It cam with mid 80's record crank and a super record RD but I am leaning towards the more modern group because I like the chorus or record brakes from that era.
I should have the decals on this afternoon, the one I got on this morning made a big difference in the aesthetics of the bike and I am curious to see what it will look like after all of them are on.
Best, Ben

I put the decals on and the transformation is amazing, what a difference the originals make.
I am not sure if I will need to clear but for now they are looking good.

Next step is to figure which group to hang on it..chorus and record there now but maybe an older group of campy..not sure what would look better...classic campy or more modern.
Best, Ben
