Gitane USA site, finally dead??

Been trying to log into the site as a new member for the last ouple of years and it had been pretty much a zombie site with no administrators on line anymore......
tried to get in the site this evening and it does not even come in anymore.
kinda sad as there must he enough Gitane fans out there willing to discuss/share their experiences with their bikes......
Major bummer for me as I finally added a Gitane to my stable last year after years of looking for the right one.....but I think there's a lot of Gitane fans at B.F. that we can all still get all the technical support and share owner experience on the bikes from people right here.

Sorry to hear that. I have a 1971 or so Tandem in my shed that has been powdercoated and is awaiting restoration. I would have liked the help!

I still check the forums but since the Gitane Bicycles Facebook group started the forum has seen less and less action. There were usually only a handful of folks that posted regularly. Definitely a bummer because I enjoyed that forum quite a bit.

It's working fine for me too. However, this new BF format is playing havoc with my browser, It's painfully slow, like I'm John Goodman trying to climb the Stelvio on a Schwinn Black Phantom.

Thanks, must have been just a temporary thing I'll try to go in again today, but when "new members" like me are still locked out from participating because new memberships are not getting confirmed by site administrators..... it might as well be a dead site, at least for people like me.....
